Bio

My career began more as a “happy accident” than any grand plan. I began doing design simply as a way to pay my way through college, and by the time I finished Film school, what started as just “paying the bills” had launched me into the fast-growing world of tech in the late 90’s. Faced with the choice between starting over as a film editing intern or continuing as a software designer, I chose the more lucrative path in design. It turned out to be a good fit in many ways. Over time, design expanded into research, strategy, and leadership roles.

My career path was never a straight line. I worked in organizations of all sizes, from scrappy startups to global companies like Amazon. I also had stints as a consultant, teacher, podcaster, and business owner.

By around 2015 I had a full career and was recognized as a leader in the field, which felt great. But internally I felt adrift. I saw a clear pattern – I would take roles because they seemed interesting or exciting, not because they aligned with me or what I truly wanted, and after the excitement wore off, I was ready to move on. After a couple of especially ill-fitting jobs, I realized two things – I wanted to make more intentional career decisions based on what I wanted… and I had no idea what I really wanted to do! Hiring a career coach changed everything. It helped me connect to my strengths, values, and vision, and showed me what it meant to create a career with intention. I also realized that what really motivated me was empowering other people to thrive and have fulfilling careers.

After my own career transition in 2021, I’m now an ICF-certified leadership and career coach, with additional training in ADHD and neurodiversity coaching. I’ve worked with hundreds of professionals navigating transitions: new jobs, promotions, switching careers, and re-entering the job market. Helping people move from feeling stuck or burnt out to being in the driver’s seat and rediscovering joy.

I love to help people find clarity, confidence, and a path that feels like theirs, as well as the confidence and skills to create that path. My approach blends mindset and strengths-based tools with practical strategies to help clients achieve their objectives.

Outside of coaching, I lead a creative community in Seattle called CreativeMornings. Creativity is a big part of my life – I always have a hobby (or a few) in the works. My husband and I are big fans of year-round outdoor adventures, often with our dog in tow. We’re lucky to have raised two thriving, creative young adults – who, to my delight, still call Seattle home.
