Bio

Sports have always been a big part of my life, and it shaped how I think about everything. I grew up in team environments where winning only mattered if you did it together. That stuck with me. I care a lot about building teams that trust each other, push each other, and show up when it counts. That feeling of winning as a group still beats any individual success.

Outside of work, I love being active and outdoors. That can be snowboarding, running, playing basketball, or going on a five day hiking trip in northern Canada with no phone connection. At the same time, I really value the slower moments. Sitting in the backyard with my wife, listening to music and talking for hours is hard to beat. We complement each other naturally, balancing strengths and weaknesses without overthinking it. Our two dogs do their part by keeping watch over everything.

My path hasn’t been linear. I’ve done everything from being a coach, paramedic, and lifeguard to leading sales and operations across sports, tech, and construction…the past 8 years in a startup environment. No matter the role, I’ve always preferred being close to the action, working in the trenches with the team and figuring things out together. At the core, I enjoy solving problems, helping people move forward, and finding better ways to get things done.

I grew up in a very religious household, which had a strong influence on my values early on, especially around respect and fairness. That sense of doing what is right has stayed with me. I’ve lived in different countries and love experiencing new cultures, but there is always something special about going back home. My dad used to visit me everywhere I lived, which made every place feel a bit more grounded. I’m just as happy at the beach as I am in the mountains.

When I set a goal, I stay with it until I get there. I’m naturally empathetic, curious, and always interested in learning something new or reading. Big changes or challenges don’t really scare me. I tend to approach things with a simple mindset: there is always a way to figure it out.

FAVORITE BOOKS

  1. Loonshots by Safi Bahcall – This one connects really well with how I think about building teams and systems. Great ideas are fragile early on, and if you don’t protect them, they never turn into something big.
  2. The Geography of Genius by Eric Weiner – I love how it shows that creativity isn’t some magical trait. It’s shaped by environment, constraints, and culture. It made me think a lot about how you can actually design better thinking, not just hope for it.
  3. Never Finished by David Goggins – No fluff, just raw accountability. It’s a strong reminder that discipline and standards matter more than how you feel on a given day.
  4. Bluefishing by Steve D. Sims – I like how practical and real it is. At the end of the day, doors open because of relationships and bold moves, not perfect plans.
  5. 10x is Easier than 2 x and Who Not How by Dan Sullivan – These completely changed how I think about growth. Bigger goals force better thinking, and the real unlock is not doing more yourself but building the right system and people around you.
  6. The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins – Simple idea, but it sticks. Not everything deserves your attention or reaction. It’s a great reminder to stay focused on what actually moves things forward instead of getting pulled into noise.
  7. Inner Engineering by Sadhguru Vasudev – A good counterbalance to all the performance and execution. It brings you back to clarity and control internally, which honestly makes everything else work better.

FUN FACT

I have lived in four different continents which gave me a very unique perspective of different cultures and the way people think and live their lives.

Why I work with HTYC

I work with Happen To Your Career because it’s exactly the kind of work I care about. Helping people figure things out, get unstuck, and actually move forward.

Most of my career has been about building teams, solving problems, and being in the trenches. HTYC feels very similar, just applied to people’s careers and lives. It’s real, practical, and not about overcomplicating things.

I also really like the mindset here. People are willing to look at things honestly and do the work, which isn’t always easy. That kind of environment matters to me.

And at the end of the day, it’s simple. I enjoy helping people win. That’s what this is about.
