Bio

A while back, I found myself at a crossroads. During a reorg, I was let go from my Growth Analytics Director role at a healthcare technology company. Many members of my team were also let go, and I had only been in the job for one year.

I needed a new job—but I didn’t want just another job. I wasn’t willing to settle for just another version of my past jobs. The last few years left me feeling stuck. I had a solid income and provided well for my family, but something was missing.

I’d catch myself counting down to the weekends instead of looking forward to starting my workday. Work felt empty—like I wasn’t doing what I was meant to do. I wasn’t showing up as my authentic self, and I felt out of place. My colleagues weren’t interested in what I wanted to talk about—career fulfillment, happiness, growth mindset, strengths, meaning, purpose, self-awareness, and mindfulness.

So, I asked myself the big question: What kind of work do I actually want to do?

For the most part, I was satisfied and proud of my career. Before my Analytics job, I had worked in HR leadership at a Fortune Global 500 company, managing several areas like Learning and Development, Performance Management, Compensation, and HR Data. Before that, I was a management consultant for a leading global consulting firm. I had also earned a master’s in Counseling Psychology with a focus on career development from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities—and a Systems Engineering degree (yep, my first one!), where I somehow finished at the top of my class. But despite all this great experience, none of my previous roles were what I wanted next.

I dug deep and reflected on the moments in my career that lit me up—when I felt in the zone and making a real impact doing what came naturally to me and truly mattered. I realized that I had always been drawn to meaningful conversations about careers—whether I was coaching employees as an HR leader, helping undecided college students choose a major while at my counseling program, guiding my team through career growth conversations, or supporting family and friends in navigating big career decisions. No matter the role, I kept coming back to this kind of work—and I loved it.

So, after being laid off, I didn’t look for another job—I decided to go all in. I told people I was doing career coaching and was able to attract my first paying clients. At the same time, I went down a career coaching rabbit hole—discovering the Happen to Your Career and the How to Become a Career Coach podcasts. I was hooked. A few months in, I reached out to HTYC and became a client myself.

With the amazing help of my HTYC coaches, I landed a career coaching role at a global outplacement coaching firm and earned my HTYC Professional Career Coach certification. After significantly growing my coaching expertise, I saw a position open at HTYC—and I went for it. Now, here I am!

What It’s Like to Work With Me

I’m all about deep, meaningful conversations that get to the heart of what truly matters to my clients. I build trust through authenticity and open-mindedness. I also have a knack for spotting patterns, connecting the dots, and generating insights to help my clients make wise career decisions.

My favorite part? Helping clients discover and fully own their signature strengths—those things they’re naturally great at, love doing, and that create real impact for others. I also love brainstorming with clients and helping them explore different roles and organizations so they can find the best fit for who they are and what they truly want—not just for their careers, but for their lives.

FAVORITE BOOKs

I spend more time listening to podcasts than reading books, so I’ll start there!

Happen to Your Career Podcast – Yep, I’m totally including this one! It was a game-changer during my last career change, and I recommend specific episodes to my clients all the time.

Eckhart Tolle: Essential Teachings Podcast – This podcast is amazing for guidance on how to truly experience the present moment and break free from overthinking, ego traps, and limiting beliefs. It’s based on Eckhart’s book The Power of Now.

And then these three books together helped me recognize, appreciate, and better understand my unique strengths, preferences, and how I naturally operate:

  • Do What You Are by Paul and Barbara Tieger
  • The Building Blocks of Personality by Leona Haas and Mark Hunziker
  • Decode Your Personality by Dario Nardi

They also helped me better understand and connect with my loved ones and my clients. These books dive deep into how people are wired differently—specifically, how we process information and make decisions in our own unique ways.

FUN FACT

I’m that person who goes all in at karaoke parties—mic in hand, full performance mode. I also love singing in the car. And when it comes to dancing, I’m all about Salsa and Merengue… but I also throw in some knee knocks and even give Michael Jackson’s moonwalk a try. Not saying I’ve mastered it, but hey, I give it my best shot!
